Bharatham Mitta Droupadi Amman Temple, Pakala

Bharatham Mitta Droupadi Amman Temple is one of the most culturally significant temples in Pakala, dedicated to Goddess Droupadi Amman (Draupadi), the revered queen from the Mahabharata. The temple is deeply connected with local traditions and is well known for its annual Bharatham Festival (Mahabharata Utsavam), during which episodes from the Mahabharata are performed through traditional street dramas (Veedhi Natakam).

The name "Bharatham Mitta" refers to the traditional raised open ground ("Mitta") where Mahabharata dramas (Bharatham) are performed during temple festivals. This centuries-old cultural tradition remains an important part of the temple's identity and the local heritage.
